Edward Fan (范梦真）grows up in a multicultural family of scientists and engineers. Since high school, Edward has accumulated academic and industrial experience in North America, Europe, and Asia. Yet he wishes to do science in the Antarctic and swim in his own pool in Latin America. Edward always has the great plan to follow the Maritime Silk Road and sail from Hong Kong to India, the Middle East, and all the way to Africa (and back)!

Thanks to his sheer (non-scientific) luck and (most importantly) the great guidance, help, and mentorship from his friends, advisors, and supervisors, Edward has built up experience and expertise in a broad range of fields from material science, green energy, biomedical imaging, cancer biology to laboratory and industrial automation. Edward's patent, (high impact!!!) papers, published book chapters and non-scientific work are summarized on this website. As an under 30, Edward's scientific work has been cited over 600 times. Currently, Edward is on track to achieve four-digit total citations and 1,000 single-publication citations before he welcomes the big meal and free gifts for this 30th birthday. He always dreams of receiving 1,000 expensive pens for this Nobel Prize celebration, although some criticize when that day comes it would be a wireless-charging stylus era.

Edward speaks 7 languages (and is learning more) and understands various culture and religious beliefs. Edward's friends are always astonished by his dramatic switches among freaking awesome American, utterly pleasant British gentleman and (most importantly) crazy rich Asian. He is genuinely rich (in knowledge)!

Edward wears shades and lab goggles to cover his small eyes, in life and at work. Occasionally, he performs manual theoretical studies on Mathematics and Geometry as in the image on this page. to remind him the F's he picked up in high school Olympiad lectures.
